  29. INTRODUCTION:

  31.     This product is for business and their managers who employ a
  32. group of people who work on a variety of jobs.  Business Clock Link
  33. is a PC-based time clock that monitors where workers are, what they
  34. are working on and when they started and stopped.

  36.     Unlike other PC based time clock programs, Business Clock Link
  37. is oriented toward the needs of managers.  So we say that Business
  38. Clock Link is "The Clock That Means Business."  Here's why:

  40.    1. "In and Out" Board Functionality that allows staff persons
  41.       to check-in and out and retrieve messages.  Secretaries
  42.       know instantly who's in the office and when others will
  43.       return.

  47.       in a job and task components, who did the work and when the

  205. INSTALLATION:
  206. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  208.     The INSTALL.EXE program will move the files from the diskette
  209. to a hard drive directory, will check for a minimum of 640K of
  210. memory, and will display this README.1ST file for you.  You do not
  211. have to run INSTALL if you have already accomplished these things.
  212.  
  213.     Installation is accomplished by inserting the diskette and
  214. typing "A:INSTALL" if the diskette was placed in drive A or
  215. "B:INSTALL" if the diskette was placed in drive B.
  216.  
  217.     No changes are made to your computer's config.sys or
  218. autoexec.bat files.
  219.  
  220.     If you are reinstalling Business Clock Link and you have
  221. existing data that you wish to keep, be sure to install to another
  222. directory or first move your old data to another directory
  223. temporarily.  Installation will destroy existing Business Clock Link
  224. data files in the directory.
  225.  
  226.     If you are upgrading from a prior version and you wish to retain
  227. your existing data, you must run the File Upgrade Utility to convert
  228. your data files.  This is provided without charge to licensed
  229. users.

  231.     Attention WINDOWS USERS:  You may add an icon and program group
  232. to your WINDOWS desktop by running PMSETUP.EXE from Windows.

  234. STARTING BUSINESS CLOCK LINK:

  237.    1. Go to the directory where you installed Business Clock Link.
  238.       If you installed to the default directory, you can do this
  239.       by entering "cd c:\bclink" and pressing "Enter".
  240.  
  241.    2. then enter "bclink" and press "Enter".
  242.  
  243.    3. Print the tutorial document by selecting "Print the Tutorial".
  244.  
  245.    4. Restart the program and return 'Enter' to all prompts until
  246.       you get to the main screen that shows the date and time at the
  247.       upper right, a scrolling 'marquee' message line at the bottom,
  248.       and a list of workers in the middle.
  249.  
  250.    5. The steps in the Tutorial will take about 20 minutes and
  251.       will provide you a overview of the capabilities of Business
  252.       Clock Link.
